Summary

Join Affirm's U.S. Consumer Compliance Advisory team as a Product Advisory Compliance Manager. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, you will be the primary compliance contact for key B2C and B2B partners like ApplePay, Amazon, and Shopify. Your responsibilities include ensuring partner adherence to regulations and internal policies, collaborating with product and commercial teams, reviewing marketing materials, addressing compliance issues, and developing training materials. You will also lead and manage a team, overseeing daily operations and employee development. This role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years in regulatory compliance, experience in fast-paced environments, and strong knowledge of consumer financial laws. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in a regulatory compliance advisory role
  • Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Experience advising revenue-generating stakeholder groups
  • A strong interest in fintech and consumer financial protections
  • Working knowledge of consumer financial laws and regulations, including UDAAP, CAN-SPAM, FCRA, TCPA, TILA (Reg. Z), ECOA (Reg. B)
  • Inquisitive and proactive in identifying problems and proposing creative solutions
  • Strong project management, critical thinking, and analytical skillsโ€“ and the ability to coach these skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication with the ability to clearly present complex and contentious issues

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Product team to assist in optimizing Affirm's product offerings, by identifying and evaluating potential compliance risks and devising effective strategies to mitigate them, while ensuring that business objectives are not compromised
  • Collaborate with the Commercial team to deliver compliance requirements in a clear and concise manner to enable standard and non-standard partnerships and respond to partner requests that may have compliance implications
  • Review and approve financial services marketing materials to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Address compliance issues by working cross functionally to identify root cause and remediate issues
  • Develop and maintain internal and cross-functional training and reference materials to enable efficient compliance reviews
  • Identify, document and optimize critical processes to enable scale, conduct risk assessments, support audits, oversee the remediation of systemic issues
  • As a people manager you will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing direct and indirect reports
  • You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, handling staffing needs, employee reviews, and coaching to achieve the companyโ€™s objectives
  • Build frameworks to bridge processes and promote cross-functional collaboration
