Summary

Join GOAT Group as a US Customs Compliance Manager and play a key role in building and managing the company's Customs compliance program. You will provide import compliance operational support and development, implementing scalable Customs entry processes and audit activities. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional business units and expertise in areas such as tariff classification, valuation, licensing, and PGA implications. You will manage tariff classification, support US Customs compliance and brokerage, maintain GOAT’s Global Trade Management System, and conduct daily reviews of U.S. shipment entries. Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years of trade compliance experience
  • History of creating systems to manage large amounts of data
  • Ability to work directly with vendors in a professional and on-brand manner
  • Very highly organized with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Taking minute data and providing a succinct overview
  • Ability to consolidate and analyze data in both Excel
  • A quick learner, a self-starter, able to work independently, and you're willing (and able) to handle the pressures of an increasing level of responsibility
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and capable of partnering across various key stakeholders to communicate trade and customs requests and propose solutions
  • Flexibility working on multiple projects and ability to deal with ambiguity

Responsibilities

  • Manage tariff classification by having knowledge of footwear, apparel, and accessories tariff classification
  • Support US Customs compliance and brokerage management; record keeping and CBP communication. CBP inquiries, Customs entries, Seizures, etc
  • Understanding of US CFR import invoice requirements; HTS, transaction values, IOR, and Incoterms
  • Maintenance of GOAT’s Global Trade Management System and Classifications; maintain multiple classification databases and perform system and regulations updates as they occur
  • Conduct daily review of U.S. shipment entries for accuracy and collaborate with customs brokers to resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Review of CIM for classification updates and make necessary update to ensure HTS for all SKUs are current
  • Support of trade compliance automation efforts
  • Logistics and Delivery operations support
  • Support delivery operations and help resolve daily import issues
  • Works with logistics to determine classifications and commercial invoice creation of all marketing, business development, bulk shipments, and intracompany transfers of goods
  • Support in-building US import Trade and Customs compliance and brokerage management
  • Support Seizure, CF 28 & 29 Customs Inquiries, and Duty Drawback program efforts
  • Understanding US CFR import invoice requirements
  • Support full audits of carrier billing with focus on Incoterms and shipping routes
  • Ensuring our logistics routes and terms are in line and monitor for excessive import fees
  • Storage, delivery exception charges that do not reflect the intention of our shipping routes
