Join Cypress Creek Renewables as a Construction Site Manager and oversee daily operations on solar or energy storage construction sites. You will monitor contractors and vendors, ensuring adherence to contracts, safety, budget, and timelines. Responsibilities include managing staff, resources, and communication with stakeholders. Requirements
- 7-10 years of onsite, utility-scale solar construction or quality management experience
- Advanced knowledge of solar PV, HV, or energy storage construction management processes, means and methods
- Ability to read building product specifications, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Knowledge and experience with photovoltaic and energy storage systems
- Experience administering construction contracts
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of safety practices and procedures
- OSHA 30 Certified
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, ProCore
- Willing to be on jobsites daily
- Expected travel: 80-100%
Responsibilities
- Monitor all activities and obligations of 3rd-party contractors and vendors related to construction of the project including safety, quality, budget, and schedule
- Management and oversight of the EPC contractor, owner-furnished equipment suppliers, utilities and other construction contracts with particular emphasis on conformance with contract requirements, permit requirements, contract changes, QA/QC, and a timely and organized facility turnover to the Operations and Maintenance team
- Interface between CCRβs project management team, O&M team, suppliers and the EPC contractor during commissioning, training, and turnover
- Manage and supervise other site-based personnel (i.e. Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Inspectors, Commissioning Engineer, etc.)
- Verify and sign-off on various construction milestones (civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical) and ensure timely updates to internal progress tracking software
- Develop and maintain local community relations
- Manage relationships with external entities such as local government, permitting agencies, and interconnecting utilities
- Oversight and reporting of Environmental, Health and Safety ensuring compliance with all applicable permits and regulations
- Provide summary management reports on the status on all aspects of the project
- Monitor and oversee all civil and electrical work activities related to the project on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and timelines
- Work closely with the EPC to identify and mitigate project risks
- Conduct and manage site inspections to monitor the progress and quality of all construction activities ensuring adherence to approved plans and specifications
- Prepare and maintain daily logs and inspection reports, ensuring all documentation is uploaded and managed through Procore
- Document any technical issues and report them promptly to the Project Manager for resolution
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and industry standards in all civil engineering activities
- Monitor and oversee substation commissioning and PV/BESS commissioning activities, coordinating between the suppliers and the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Contractor to ensure seamless integration and execution
- Implement and oversee quality control measures and documentation
- Lead and internal and external meetings (daily, weekly)
- Contribute to constructability reviews of development-stage projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior quality control/quality assurance experience highly preferred
- Undergraduate degree preferred, but not required
