Construction Manager

Summary

Join Tidal Basin's Federal Disaster Recovery Cadre as a temporary employee, assisting communities in need following disasters. Deployment may last up to a year and requires obtaining/maintaining a DHS/FEMA Clearance and badge.

Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Excel, MS Office, Outlook), TEAMS, Grants Manager, GoogleEarth Pro, and other FEMA Systems. Must know how to use a laptop and cell phone
• Mid-Level: Bachelors’ Degree with 5 years of experience in a related field OR 10 years of experience in a related field without a Bachelor’s Degree. Senior-Level: Bachelors’ Degree with 10 years of experience in a related field OR 15 years of experience in a related field without a Bachelor’s degree
• If deployed as a Site Inspector: Provide your own personal safety gear (reflective construction vest, Hard Hat, Steel Toed work boots) and measuring equipment (tape measure, measuring wheel, and laser measure)

Responsibilities

• If deployed as a Site Inspector: Conduct inspections at sites and facilities damaged by disasters to determine and document the extent of disaster related damages. Measure facilities and components using various tools, document grant applicants’ damage claims, compile documentation, enter data into FEMA’s Grant Manager software, create maps, photo markups, and sketches, provide good customer service
• If deployed as a PDMG: Provide customer service to assigned applicants throughout the PA grant management process, work with stakeholders, use Grant Manager software, enter, update, and retrieve grant information, follow applicable regulations, lead meetings, track and follow-up with the Applicant on FEMA's Requests for Information and documentation submission

Preferred Qualifications

FEMA Public Assistance Deployments totaling 1 year or more, working knowledge of Grants Manager, 1-year combined experience deployed with FEMA Public Assistance (PA), 2 to 3 deployments on FEMA PA Projects or 2 years’ experience on 1 FEMA PA Project is a plus
