Summary
Join Team Rubicon as a Leased Employee, Construction Project Coordinator for a 3-month temporary assignment (with potential extension) supporting Long Term Recovery construction projects in Southern Georgia or Northern Florida. You will plan and oversee building production, manage project costs, and sub-contracted work. This remote position requires experience in project management, residential construction, and relationship management. The role involves up to 50% travel and may require occasional weekend or evening work. The position is managed through a third-party staffing agency.
Requirements
- Have 2-3 years of experience in either project management or business operations, with special consideration given to experience in residential construction
- Have 1-3 years of experience in relationship management, preferably with local government, community organizations, and non-profits
- Possess experience with and working knowledge of residential construction and have demonstrated ability to perform construction related tasks
- Possess working knowledge of residential building codes, permitting and inspection processes
- Possess working knowledge of Critical Path Scheduling methods
- Be able to work up to 50% travel
- Have a valid Driverβs License
- Be comfortable with operating in an active construction site
Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee all activities related to achieving building production goals including producing cost estimates via Xactimate, scopes of work and schedules via Procore, reviewing plans, vetting and recommendation of vendors and subcontractors
- Manage project costs to include budgeted v. actual, monitoring for trends and proposing solutions to refine
- Manage sub-contracted work: solicitation of bids and RFPs, scheduling, quality control, and establishment of work parameters through contracts, change orders and notice to proceed orders
- Provide periodic project site visits to ensure compliance with project scope, quality, and safety requirements
- Generate and foster contractor relationships to ensure a pool of contractors, matching TRβs requirements are available and able to bid and complete construction projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Have experience working with local level community recovery efforts, ex. LTRG or VOAD experience
- Have demonstrated success in working in matrix managed environments
