Summary

Join Barbour ABI, a UK built environment intelligence company, as their Consultancy Research Manager. This permanent, remote role offers the autonomy of an SME with the backing of a global business. As a key player in the Market Research division, you will manage qualitative and quantitative research projects, overseeing freelance researchers and delivering client projects on time and within budget. You will utilize various research techniques, including surveys, focus groups, and data analysis, to provide insights and recommendations. The role requires strong analytical skills, experience in project management, and excellent report writing abilities. A monthly team meeting in Cheshire Oaks is required.

Requirements

  • Have expertise in research techniques both quantitative and qualitative
  • Be able to run surveys and maximise response rates – technical set up (Qualtrics experience preferred), oversee list management, manage communications and the process flow to encourage participation
  • Manage end-to-end quantitative primary research programmes, from client briefing, questionnaire design and scripting (Qualtrics experience preferred), sampling techniques, data interpretation, and delivery of insights and recommendations
  • Manage end-to-end qualitative research studies including discussion guide development, methodology design, fieldwork management, qualitative data interpretation and delivery of insights and recommendations
  • Have previous experience in research looking at data and statistics, especially company data and official statistics and reporting
  • Have experience in using Microsoft Excel, including familiarity with using Pivot Tables and Graphs
  • Possess strong data analysis skills, especially the ability to derive insight from data
  • Have experience of managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Have experience of managing freelance researchers and ensuring they meet deliverables
  • Have first-class report writing experience and attention to detail
  • Possess an analytical, questioning mindset and the ability to think critically
  • Have a positive, solutions-orientated attitude towards problem-solving
  • Have experience in trends analysis and market forecasting

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for qualitative and quantitative research projects including market sizing, brand positioning and health checks, market scoping, acquisition due diligence, new product development research and testing, etc
  • Bring different research techniques into play and balance work across multiple projects and clients
  • Manage and support freelance researchers in the delivery of projects
  • Set up and manage several projects at a time and keep them on track and delivering to the client within agreed timescales

Preferred Qualifications

  • Be educated to degree-level in a relevant field, e.g. Business Studies, Marketing, Economics
  • Have market research agency experience
  • Have built environment/construction sector experience
  • Have MRS membership or be working towards accreditation
