Consultant - Auditor

Summary

Join MCD Global Health as a short-term audit consultant for a 4-week engagement (July 14th, 2025) focusing on the audit of US Programs. The objective is to assess the effectiveness and compliance of control systems to mitigate operational and financial risks within MCD’s US Programs for FY2022. The scope includes contract/proposal development, financial management, compliance, internal controls, reporting, and performance monitoring. Deliverables include completed working papers, a summary of findings, a draft report, and all collected materials. The ideal candidate possesses at least 5 years of audit experience, preferably with a US-based INGO, a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Audit, and a professional qualification like CPA, CIA, or ACCA. Remote work is possible, with a US-based location preferred.

• A professional qualification e.g. CPA, CIA, ACCA etc

Responsibilities

• Assess the current effectiveness of and compliance with the systems of control put in place by management to eliminate or mitigate both operational and financial risk within MCD’s US Programs
• Review contract / proposal development and implementation: Due diligence, cost of implementation of the contract, decision-making process, etc
• Review of expenditures, budget adherence, fund utilization and reconciliation
• Adherence to government regulations, donor terms and local laws
• Separation of duties, authorizations & approvals, and documented policies & procedures
• Accuracy and timeliness of technical and financial reporting
• Performance monitoring
• Completed internal audit working papers, to be submitted within 5 days after completion of the review
• Summary of audit findings on prescribed template, to be submitted within 5 days after completion of the audit
• A draft report on MCD Internal Audit Report Template, to be submitted within 10 days after completion of the review
• All materials and background information collected
