Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
  • 4-5 years of proven experience as a Content Editor, Copy Editor, or similar role, with a strong portfolio of editing samples
  • Exceptional command of written English, including excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors or inconsistencies quickly
  • Knowledge of SEO basics and what constitutes great content
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and the ability to optimize content accordingly
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback to writers
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks efficiently

Responsibilities

  • Research trending industry blog topics based on keyword research provided by the SEO team
  • Work with the SEO specialist to obtain new and relevant keywords monthly
  • Create blog briefs through thorough research (at least 4-6 per week)
  • Review and edit written content (articles, blog posts, marketing materials) to ensure grammatical accuracy, clarity, and consistency
  • Check for accurate spelling, punctuation, and syntax, making necessary corrections
  • Ensure content adheres to the style guide and maintains brand voice and tone
  • Collaborate with writers to provide constructive feedback and improve content quality
  • Conduct thorough fact-checking to verify information accuracy and credibility
  • Make recommendations for content enhancements (restructuring, clarification, adding information)
  • Move final blog drafts to WordPress after editing
  • Create title images for blogs with guidance from the graphic designer
  • Publish blogs and conduct a final review
  • Create and send the blog newsletter monthly
  • Update existing blogs with recent data, stats/facts, examples, product information, title image, and for SEO optimization
  • Write product-based blogs for new launches
  • Work on email marketing content
  • Work on banner content for new launches
  • Build email campaigns on Active Campaign and schedule them
  • Work with the Tech team to collect customer data for email campaigns
  • Identify and apply new SEO trends
  • Learn and execute various trending content strategies
