Join Khan Academy's US Content team as a Content team Intern and collaborate with experienced Content Creators to develop, launch, and improve educational content in Physics. Under the mentorship of a seasoned professional, you will manage a project from start to finish, gaining comprehensive experience in the content creation process. This internship offers a unique opportunity to integrate AI-powered tutoring into content and present your project at a culminating event. You'll be part of an intern learning community, gaining insights into various teams within an educational technology organization. Requirements
- Passion for education and instructional design
- Motivation by the Khan Academy mission “to provide a free world-class education for anyone, anywhere.”
- Deep knowledge and expertise in Physics
- 2+ years of experience teaching Physics at the K-12 or university level
- Ability to harness creativity, empathy, and pragmatism to design learning experiences that are standards-aligned and lead to positive learning outcomes
- Commitment to equity and to delivering engaging and meaningful learning experiences to all learners, particularly those in historically underrepresented groups or communities
- Strong execution and collaboration skills
- Ability to connect your day-to-day work to larger departmental, school, or district-wide goals while also paying close attention to details to ensure that your work is clear, concise, and error-free
- Adept project management skills; ability to break a complex task into manageable pieces and track your progress towards a goal or outcome; ability to stay organized even when there are multiple tasks to complete
- Kindness, collaboration, and strong communication skills; ability to successfully share, solicit, and act on feedback; ability to sum up complex ideas and communicate them to a variety of audiences
- Proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of others, and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging throughout an organization
- Interest in classroom teaching and careers in content creation within the educational technology space; eagerness to learn more through an authentic full-time summer experience
- Availability to participate in an 8-week full-time remote internship program between the end of your 2024-25 school year and the start of your 2025-26 school year, and availability to share out your summer work at a remote event in August 2025
Responsibilities
- Develop, launch, and upgrade content on courses in your area of expertise
- Own and drive a project that gives you end-to-end experience with all aspects of Khan Academy’s content creation cycle
- Share your project through a culminating presentation at the close of the internship experience
- Explore ways to integrate our AI-powered tutor, Khanmigo, into our content to provide more tailored and interactive learning experiences to students
