Contract Systems Engineer

Summary

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure with a focus on hybrid cloud platforms, automated storage systems, and data protection technologies. This is a remote contract position for 4-6 months.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in systems engineering, with a focus on hybrid cloud platforms, automated storage systems, and data protection technologies
• Strong knowledge of HPE GreenLake, VMware, and Veeam solutions
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage HPE GreenLake hybrid cloud solutions to optimize IT infrastructure
• Implement Veeam backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection and business continuity
• Monitor and manage all installed systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and configuration changes to maintain security and efficiency
• Develop and maintain custom scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency
• Work closely with IT, operations, and other departments to understand and address their system needs
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for system-related issues, ensuring timely resolution
• Liaise with vendors and service providers to resolve technical problems and optimize system performance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Familiarity with network infrastructure and cybersecurity best practices
• Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., HPE, Veeam)
