Summary

Join Taconic Biosciences as a Contracts Attorney and play a crucial role in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various contracts. This primarily remote position offers a competitive salary ($120,000-$130,000) and excellent benefits. Success requires strong legal judgment, business acumen, and collaborative skills. The ideal candidate will have a JD, 3+ years of relevant experience, and a strong understanding of contract law. Occasional travel to New York sites is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school required
  • Active and good standing membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on contract law and transactional work (preferably a combination of in-house and law firm experience)
  • Strong understanding of business and contract law; general understanding of intellectual property law concepts
  • Excellent legal writing, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of contracts, including confidentiality-nondisclosure agreements, vendor agreements, master product and services agreements, and consulting contracts
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual rights, obligations, and risks
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, sales, IT, and other departments to ensure alignment on contract terms
  • Assist with contract lifecycle management, including organization, tracking, renewal, and termination processes
  • Maintain and update standard templates and contract playbooks
  • Provides training to other departments on contract requirements and other legal matters
  • Conduct legal research and stay current with applicable laws and regulations affecting the business

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the life sciences or biotechnology industry is strongly preferred
  • Experience with contract management systems is a plus
