Summary

Join Designed Conveyor Systems (DCS) as a Controls Engineer, serving as the subject matter expert for material handling controls systems. You will collaborate with pre- and post-contract teams, interfacing with suppliers to solve client problems. This role demands attention to detail, creative thinking, and flexibility to support multiple projects. Responsibilities include creating control drawing layouts, completing controls take-offs and estimates, maintaining pricing tools, reviewing client requests, producing RFPs for subcontractors, evaluating bids and contract deliverables, staying updated on new technologies, and conducting site visits. Requirements

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field
  • Have 5+ years of Parcel or Distribution & Fulfillment material handling solution experience
  • Be able to travel up to 15%
  • Demonstrate success as a performer
  • Be an outstanding communicator, orally and written

Responsibilities

  • Utilize your experience with control systems to complete control drawing layouts
  • Complete controls take-offs
  • Complete estimates for field wiring and controls
  • Maintain / enhance pricing tools
  • Review client requests for proposal to understand the controls and electrical requirements
  • Produce RFPs for sub-contractors, working with Applications Engineers, Estimators, and sub-contractors to ensure scopes of work are well-defined
  • Evaluate bids submitted by suppliers to provide recommendations to the estimating and leadership teams
  • Evaluate contract deliverables from suppliers to ensure they meet project scope requirements
  • Keep abreast of new technologies to aid in better designs
  • Perform site and supplier visits as required
