Summary
Join UNiDAYS as a Corporate Counsel and become a key member of our growing legal team. This role requires a UK-qualified lawyer with 7+ years of post-qualification experience in a tech company environment. You will draft and negotiate contracts, advise on marketing compliance, and ensure alignment with legal standards. The position offers remote work within the UK with occasional travel to Nottingham. Requirements
- Qualified to practice law in England and Wales with 7+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house experience in tech companies
- Strong experience in contract negotiation and drafting with proven success in customer and vendor agreements
- Extensive experience advising on marketing compliance, advertising regulations (including those involving loyalty programs, sweepstakes, giveaways and social media campaigns), and data privacy matters
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks in key regions, including the UK, EMEA, India, ANZ and US
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Deep expertise in EU and UK regulations, data privacy, and rules governing ESG and other areas of regulation relevant to online platforms
- A highly organised, proactive and self-motivated individual who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and enjoys working on diverse projects with minimal supervision
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills. Accountable with a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, discretion and judgement
- Startup mentality: An enthusiastic, can-do attitude with a willingness to take on all types of tasksโno job is too big or too small
- Comfortable with discussing technology
- 7+ years PQE with a focus on marketing and data privacy law
Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including marketing, vendor, and partnership agreements
- Advise on all aspects of compliance with consumer, advertising and online platform legislation across the UK, EMEA, India, Australia and the US and regions where the business is looking to expand its services
- Assist the Marketing, Product and Engineering teams in the review of new products and features to ensure they align with applicable legal standards and guidelines
- Maintain Businessโs IP portfolio
- Assist the Fraud team in identifying resolving causes of fraudulent use of the services
- Develop and implement marketing compliance policies and procedures
- Provide legal guidance on market entry strategies, including regulatory requirements, licensing and compliance with local laws
- Provide counsel on data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA and other relevant legislation
- Investigate and resolve legal issues arising from member complaints
- Partner with internal stakeholders to build awareness and guide them on data privacy, regulatory requirements, and ESG compliance, including developing training materials and processes
- Evaluate and measure your performance and seek feedback for continuous improvement
- Ensure you complete all mandatory training and/or workshops set by the business or your manager
