Requirements

  • Ability to deal with a wide variety of stakeholders to translate client needs into complete solutions
  • Experience and proficiency sourcing, validating and documenting requirements from customers
  • Demonstrable track record delivering complex data engineering and analytics projects successfully
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in Python and SQL for data handling; advanced Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, macros). Working knowledge of cloud platforms
  • Data Reporting: Experience in producing custom reports using tools like Power BI or similar platforms. Strong data presentation, visualisation and report writing skills
  • Data Management: Experience in data cleaning, transformation, validation, and reporting
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to explain complex data processes to non-technical stakeholders
  • Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying and resolving data-related issues efficiently
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring data accuracy and consistency
  • Data engineering expertise: Solid understanding of data engineering fundamentals and concepts. Familiarity with orchestration, ingestion, transformation of multi-source datasets
  • Data modelling: Solid understanding of data modelling for reporting purposes. Familiarity with common methodologies such as Dimensional Modelling or Data Vault
  • Collaboration and teamwork: You'll thrive working a wide community of business and technical stakeholders to drive projects forward. Comfortable working independently as well as closely collaborating across functions to identify problems and deliver high quality solutions with business and technical rigor

Responsibilities

  • Using a consultative approach, work directly with customers to gather data requirements and translate them into actionable solutions
  • Identify customer pain points and opportunities to address with data
  • Document high quality requirements and scope briefs
  • Validate solutions meet customer needs and commercial outcomes
  • Validate the solution meets the compliance, privacy and security requirements for the client and Smartly
  • Supporting Sales and Account Management in pre-sales activities including client meetings and creation of proposals as required
  • Develop, test and implement data solutions and reports for customers as reusable and repeatable solutions
  • Analyse and transform data from various systems into standardised formats
  • Handle data cleaning, validation, transformation and mapping using tools like Python
  • Validate correctness of transformations against source data
  • Develop and maintain templates, documentation, and guidelines for consistent data processes
  • Develop and maintain processes to ensure a very high standard of data accuracy
  • Support customer implementation and validation workflows
  • Test, monitor and report data transformation projects, resolving errors and exceptions as they arise
  • Collaborate with internal teams to successfully implement customer projects
  • Building strong rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders leveraging these relationships to expedite time to value for customer solutions
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Partner Success, Key Accounts, Managed Services & Customer Support
  • Collaborate with Product to turn one off solutions into long term product functionality where appropriate
  • Working collaboratively across Smartly to resolve client business and or technical issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Payroll Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with payroll data fields and systems is a plus
  • Desirable if not mandatory is payroll and or people management legislation or product knowledge
