Summary

Join lastminute.com, a European Travel-Tech leader, as a Customer Data Engineer in Madrid or remotely throughout Spain. You will be a key member of the Data Analytics team, leveraging your data engineering skills to enhance customer experience across various domains. This permanent, full-time position (36 hours/week) involves designing, building, and deploying data pipelines, performing data analysis and reporting, and collaborating with stakeholders. You will need at least two years of experience in a similar role, strong SQL knowledge, and experience with workflow management engines and data modeling. Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in similar role
  • Strong knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with workflow management engines (e.g. Airflow)
  • Experience in Data Modelling
  • Experience with data quality and validation
  • Experience in custom ETL design, implementation and maintenance (with tools such as: Talend, dbt, etc.)
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically with a strong attitude for problem solving
  • Proficiency in English both written and spoken

Responsibilities

  • Understand and analyze functional needs, raw data and develop data dimensional models
  • Design, build and deploy data pipelines with a focus on automation, performance optimization, scalability, and reliability aspects
  • Data extraction, analysis and reporting, in order to drive performance insights and support business decisions
  • Works closely with internal stakeholders in order to identify and prioritise business needs and opportunities
  • Explores and proactively propose new product and business opportunities
  • Closely partner with Data Analyst to implement data models and data pipelines that will allow the company to get all the insights needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Programming languages knowledge (e.g. Python, R, Scala)
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like Qlik, Tableau, Looker, Power BI
  • Experience working with cloud or on-prem Big Data/MPP analytics platform (e.g. AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery or similar)
  • Ability to influence decision makers through presentations
  • Familiarity with digital and ecommerce business
  • Previous experience in the travel industry
  • Experience in analysis
