Summary

Join Interapt's team of Mid-Level Cybersecurity Engineers to contribute to a high-impact client engagement centered on cloud security operations, IT risk, and secure architecture. Collaborate with the Cybersecurity Lead Engineer and client teams to implement technical security controls, conduct risk reviews, and establish secure practices throughout the SDLC. This client-facing role blends hands-on security engineering with business alignment, catering to professionals who thrive in dynamic environments and seek to enhance their consulting and leadership skills. The position requires 3+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience, cloud security expertise (AWS preferred), and a strong understanding of encryption technologies. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is mandatory. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or architecture
  • Hands-on experience with cloud security (AWS preferred) and infrastructure protection
  • Strong understanding of encryption technologies (TLS, AES, RSA)
  • Familiarity with VPNs, Zero Trust, and remote access management tools
  • Experience supporting security operations, controls monitoring, and risk reviews
  • Ability to translate technical issues into business-impact terms and vice versa
  • Certification(s): Security+, CISSP, CISA, or similar
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and validation of security and privacy requirements across project phases
  • Work with engineering and strategy teams to ensure secure-by-design principles in cloud-based and enterprise environments
  • Review proposed architectures and solutions, identifying areas for enhanced security controls
  • Support the deployment and management of controls across domains including: Network Security, Identity and Access Management, Data Encryption, Application Security
  • Assist in documenting risks, exceptions, and status of assigned security requirements
  • Engage in change, vulnerability, and configuration management processes
  • Stay informed of current security trends, threats, and mitigation strategies relevant to client environments
  • Participate in control optimization for IPO-readiness and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ITGC)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated industries preferred (e.g., telecom, fintech, healthcare)
  • Familiarity with NIST, CIS, and other control frameworks
  • Experience with container security and DevSecOps principles
