Data Analyst ‒ Customer Success

Summary
Join our Customer Success team as a Data Analyst and lead the delivery of data-driven solutions for game studios. You will own the customer onboarding journey, act as a trusted analytics advisor, and foster a data-first culture within our clients' organizations. Key responsibilities include guiding customers through the onboarding process for our behavior analytics platform, translating business goals into measurable data strategies, and providing ongoing consultation to support customers' digital transformation. You will also research and curate analytics best practices tailored to game genres and business models, apply descriptive and diagnostic analysis to uncover gameplay trends, and provide customer support and training. This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as a proactive and self-motivated approach.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably in gaming or digital product environments
- Strong SQL skills and experience building reports and dashboards
- Experience defining and analyzing key business metrics (e.g., retention, LTV, conversion funnels)
- Solid understanding of how analytics ties into product development, marketing, and operations
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
- Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working across customers and internal teams
Responsibilities
- Drive Customer Onboarding: Guide customers through the onboarding process for ThinkingData's behavior analytics platform — including data collection design, SDK and event validation, and dashboard setup
- Be the Analytics Expert: Act as a strategic partner to customers, helping translate business goals into measurable data strategies across collection, analysis, and reporting
- Enable Data-Driven Culture: Provide ongoing consultation to support customers' digital transformation and promote best practices for data-informed decision-making
- Industry-Focused Guidance: Research and curate analytics best practices tailored to game genres, lifecycle stages (soft launch, LiveOps), and business models (IAP, IAA, hybrid)
- Deep-Dive Analytics: Apply descriptive and diagnostic analysis to uncover gameplay trends, monetization bottlenecks, and user segmentation opportunities
- Customer Support & Training: Be responsive to product questions, troubleshooting requests, and on-site or remote training needs
- Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to internal knowledge bases covering analytical techniques, success stories, and game-specific metric frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., data lakes, ETL pipelines)
- Experience with product analytics platforms (ThinkingData, Amplitude, GameAnalytics, Mixpanel)
- Understanding of LiveOps, AB testing, and in-game economy metrics
- Ability to balance hands-on analytics with customer-facing responsibilities
