Summary

Join PENN Entertainment's Product Data Insights & Analytics team as a Data Analyst and contribute to developing data-driven solutions that enhance profitability, growth, and user experience for our digital products. You will collaborate with stakeholders, leverage data to track product performance, and provide insightful recommendations. The role involves working with complex datasets, creating custom reports, and understanding user interactions with our platforms (ESPN Bet, Hollywood Casino, theScore Bet, theScore apps/websites). You will support senior analysts, contribute to data exploration tool implementation, and liaise with data engineers. This position requires a university degree in a relevant field, strong SQL skills, experience with data exploration tools, and excellent communication abilities. Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business, or related field
  • Strong Knowledge of relational databases and SQL. Ability to write and troubleshoot complex SQL queries under minimal directions
  • Experience with data exploration tools such as: Looker, Mode, Amplitude
  • A passion and curiosity for solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches
  • Ability to take complex data and present it in a clear manner to business stakeholders
  • Ability to focus in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Eager to learn from others and help others grow with you

Responsibilities

  • Work with complex data sets to answer questions and uncover new insights on product features
  • Create and build custom reports and complete analyses and present clear recommendations to business stakeholders
  • Develop a deep understanding of how users interact with ESPN Bet / Hollywood Casino / theScore Bet / theScore apps and websites
  • Support Intermediate & Senior Data Analysts on project needs, data issues relating to both analysis and modeling
  • Help with implementation & adoption of a data exploration tool across the organization
  • Liaise with data engineers to build data pipelines and solve related issues
  • Stay on top of emerging trends in media, sports betting, analytics & marketing industries
