Summary

Join Trupanion's Internal Audit team as a Data Analytics Engineer and drive data analytics initiatives using modern tools like Databricks, Tableau, and cloud-based data platforms. You will transform data into actionable insights, develop scalable data pipelines, build and maintain dashboards, and collaborate with stakeholders. This role requires a strong engineering background and expertise in data analytics. The position is remote in India with a schedule allowing for overlap with US Eastern Time. Trupanion is a leading global pet insurance provider committed to building a best-in-class team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in data analytics or data engineering roles
  • Proven expertise in Databricks (including Spark, Python, and SQL)
  • Strong proficiency in Tableau —developing dashboards, advanced calculations, and data storytelling
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and performance tuning
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end data analytics projects independently
  • Develop scalable data pipelines and analytics workflows using Databricks (Python/SQL/Spark)
  • Design, build, and maintain advanced Tableau dashboards and visualizations tailored to business needs
  • Clean, transform, and model data from various sources to provide actionable insights
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytics requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Optimize and automate existing reporting processes
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality across analytics solutions
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in analytics tools and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of additional BI tools like Power BI or Looker
  • Familiarity with machine learning workflows and MLOps is a plus
