Summary

You will design and build scalable data architectures in Amazon Redshift, leading the migration from Teradata. Requirements

  • Proven experience in data architecture in on-premise environments (especially Teradata) and cloud (preferably AWS/Redshift)
  • Strong knowledge of Teradata: data models, loading tools (TPT, FLOAD, MLOAD, FEXPORT), EXPLAIN analysis, Viewpoint, and Workload Management
  • Experience in database design and modeling in Redshift (sort keys, distribution styles, spectrum, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze, translate, and adapt complex Teradata structures into optimized Redshift architectures
  • Knowledge of data integration and migration tools (e.g., AWS DMS, Glue, Data Pipeline, etc.)
  • Experience in data governance, data quality, and security strategies in cloud environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on performance and scalability
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with technical, functional, and business teams

Responsibilities

  • Design and build complex and scalable data architectures in Amazon Redshift
  • Lead the migration of the current Teradata Data Warehouse to Redshift, ensuring integrity, performance, and operational continuity
  • Deeply analyze the data model and existing structures in Teradata to understand their logic, strengths, and optimization opportunities
  • Identify improvement opportunities in the current architecture and efficiently translate them to the new cloud environment
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to develop data migration and transformation pipelines
  • Apply best practices in relational data modeling, performance tuning, and schema design in Redshift
  • Implement data governance strategies in the new environment, including access control, data lineage, and metadata management
  • Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to align strategic requirements with the new data architecture
  • Document processes, technical decisions, and recommendations to ensure system traceability and scalability

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, Solutions Architect)
  • Teradata certification (Vantage Certified)
  • Experience in data modernization and cloud migration projects
  • Knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight)
  • Experience with agile methodologies and technical project leadership
