Data Architect

Summary

Join Zirous, a leading tech firm, as a Data Architect! Design and implement data environments for clients, combining strategy, design, and hands-on implementation. Collaborate with technical and client teams, lead architecture efforts for cloud solutions, and ensure successful project implementation. Provide expert technical support and consultation. Develop and manage technical strategies, leveraging existing and new technologies. This hybrid role offers a flexible schedule with remote work options (Mondays and Fridays) and on-site work in West Des Moines, IA (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays). Local candidates are preferred.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in an enterprise environment
• Proficiency in designing and working within cloud-based environments is essential
• Track record of leading data warehouse projects and overseeing intricate system architectures
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
• In-depth knowledge and substantial experience with data structures, as well as object-oriented and declarative programming
• Strong written and oral communication skills, analytical thinking, problem solving, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members
• Robust organizational skills, capability to meet project deadlines, and attention to detail
• 10+ years of experience with the following technologies: Microsoft Azure, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake Gen 2, Logic Apps, Fabric, DevOps
• Azure SQL Database, Microsoft SQL Server
• SQL, Java, XML
• AWS, Oracle, Google Cloud
• Snowflake, Alteryx
• R, Python
• Power BI, Tableau, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Qlik Sense, Google Data Studio, Looker, Quicksight, Microsoft Purview
• Jira, Confluence

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Zirous technical team and client teams on strategy and implementation details
• Work with a project team to gather business and technical requirements
• Lead a team in architecting scalable and configurable cloud solutions for Zirous clients
• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure successful project implementation
• Provide expert and specialized hands-on technical support, consultation and coaching to clients
• Responsible for development and management of technical strategies and initiatives that take advantage of existing technologies, as well as bring forth new technologies that address business needs in an efficient manner
• Complete evaluation, selection, and management of technology partners to supplement Zirous’ subject matter knowledge
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• A master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
• Experience in DevOps is highly advantageous
