Summary

Join AnaVation as a Modeling Data Engineer and contribute to the development, design, and adaptation of proprietary data formats for real-world entities. You will be responsible for creating data models that support current and future enterprise applications. Collaborate with data architects and software developers to ensure the data model captures software system use cases. This hybrid role offers mostly remote work with occasional on-site visits in Lorton, VA. A Top-Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI access with a CI polygraph are required. Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field of study
  • Experience creating and managing data models, ETL development and data warehousing
  • Software languages and software system development experience (Python and JavaScript)
  • Familiarity and experience with search query languages (SQL, No-SQL)
  • Knowledge of common data storage formats (JSON, XML, CSV)
  • Familiarity with the software development cycle
  • Extensive experience building unit tests
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Top-Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI access with a CI polygraph

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and adapt proprietary data formats that capture real-world entities in realistic, transportable, and explanatory data models
  • Develop changes to the model to support continually evolving system and information requirements
  • Ensure that the data model supports current and future enterprise applications system design
  • Capture and communicate changes to the data model at consistent, regular intervals consistent with the software development life cycle of the enterprise applications
  • Interface directly with data architects and software developers to ensure that the data model is able to capture the use cases that the software systems are responsible for

Preferred Qualifications

  • Digital forensic domain background
  • Normalizing data accounting for multiple organizational and operational concerns
  • Experience working with an ontologist
  • Experience handling complex and conflicting customer requirements
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks
