Summary
Join Clover's Business Enablement team as a Data Platform Engineer and develop data pipelines and tools to support analytics and machine learning initiatives. Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and healthcare professionals to build tools improving real people’s health. Leverage your expertise in data warehousing projects and advanced knowledge of data cleansing, ingestion, ETL, and data governance. You will work with SQL, Python, and Snowflake, contributing to the vision, development, and implementation of our Data Warehouse solution. This role requires extensive experience leading data warehousing projects and advanced knowledge in data cleansing, ingestion, ETL, and data governance. Requirements
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and 5+ years of experience in ETL programming
- Have professional experience in a healthcare setting (Health Plan knowledge is highly desired; Medicare experience is preferred)
- Have expertise in most of the following technologies: Python, Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, GCP / AWS / BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Data Governance best practices
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with operations, IT, and vendor partners to understand the data landscape and contribute to the vision, development, and implementation of our Data Warehouse solution
- Recommend technologies and tools to support the future-state architecture
- Develop standards, processes, and procedures aligned with best practices in data governance and management
- Oversee logical and physical data modeling, load performance, and query optimization
- Develop new and secure data feeds with external parties and internal applications
- Perform regular analysis, QA, and troubleshooting of ETL processes, diagnosing issues and recommending corrective actions
- Work cross-functionally to support the design, development, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of new ETL programs
- Develop a strong understanding of our existing data ecosystem and pipelines
- Build relationships with various stakeholders to understand their day-to-day operations and data needs
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new ETL programs to support business growth and operational efficiency
- Perform root cause analysis for identified issues and propose solutions for both short-term fixes and long-term improvements to enhance the stability and accuracy of our pipelines
- Provide feedback and propose process improvements for data engineering operations
- Work with platform engineers to improve data ecosystem stability, quality monitoring, and governance
- Lead discussions with key stakeholders and propose, design, and implement new data engineering projects that solve critical business problems
- Enhance and maintain ETL programs and data assets
- Serve as the technical lead for the data engineering squad’s day-to-day operations
- Mentor and guide junior team members
Preferred Qualifications
Have some experience with analytics, data science, and ML collaboration tools (e.g., Tableau, Mode, Looker)
