Summary

Join Mediavine's Engineering team as an experienced Data Product Manager! Lead and manage data projects, leveraging data to drive business value. Champion data literacy and drive data adoption across the organization.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management experience, including defining, launching, and optimizing products and services
  • 5+ years of experience working with data or analytics products
  • Proficiency in SQL; ability to write and understand complex queries
  • Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake) and BI tools (e.g., Domo, Looker)
  • Experience with 0-to-1 product development, with a balanced approach to delivering quick wins and long-term value
  • Experience efficiently communicating findings and progress to cross-functional teams, senior leadership with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in defining and tracking KPIs to measure project success
  • Familiarity with selecting, setting up, and using data systems and cloud infrastructure
  • Ability to understand complex systems and identify interdependencies
  • Ability to anticipate downstream effects of product decisions
  • Proven ability to conduct thorough research and solve complex problems innovatively
  • Excellent communication skills demonstrated by active listening, collaboration and an openness to ideas and concepts presented by others
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery
  • Availability to travel to on-site locations for team retreats, leadership meetings and the annual all hands events approximately 15% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of data and analytics initiatives, ensuring timely completion with clear milestones
  • Partner with engineering and business teams to align data strategy with company goals, ensuring regular updates and transparency
  • Manage data infrastructure, including tools like Snowflake, Domo, and Looker, ensuring scalability and performance to meet business needs
  • Translate complex data needs into actionable requirements and lead refinement sessions with engineering to ensure clarity before development
  • Define and track KPIs for data initiatives, using insights to drive product iteration and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to develop go-to-market strategies for data products that align with customer and business needs
  • Enforce data quality standards, conducting regular checks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability
  • Track platform usage, forecast contract renewals, and work with teams to maintain optimal performance of data tools
  • Collaborate with the Director of Innovation to explore new data technologies and foster a culture of experimentation and learning
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to data infrastructure, quality, and security, proactively addressing issues before they affect timelines
  • Stay agile to adapt to feedback, industry changes, and new data opportunities, ensuring alignment with long-term strategic goals
  • Availability to travel to on-site locations for team retreats, leadership meetings and the annual all hands events approximately 15% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ad Tech industry experience and familiarity with technologies like OpenRTB, Prebid, and Google Ad Manager (GAM)
  • Experience with HubSpot integrations
  • Engineering experience in Python
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance
