Summary

Join our Mortgage Business Intelligence & Analytics team as a Data Quality Analyst! You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our data throughout its lifecycle. This involves testing and validating new data sources, maintaining data lineage and definitions, making updates to existing reports, and developing new reports based on business needs. You will collaborate closely with the data engineering team and contribute to the continuous improvement of our reporting environment. Mortgage experience is required, along with strong SQL Server, Power BI, and data validation skills. The compensation range is $50,000 - $65,000.

Requirements

  • Have 2-5 years’ experience in a data focused role
  • Possess a core understanding of data pipeline including ingestion, transformation, modeling, and preparation
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of data validation procedures including system parity, checksum, row-level, object-level, and incremental change validations
  • Have experience with documenting and maintaining validation logs
  • Have report development and data visualization experience
  • Have mortgage experience
  • Be proficient in MS SQL Server including Standard data mining, Advanced querying/window methods, Create/read views and stored procedures
  • Be proficient in Power BI including Power Query
  • Have experience with Semantic Models
  • Have experience with DAX
  • Have experience with Report design and layout
  • Have experience with VCS such as Git or TFS
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be authorized to work in the US without the need for sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Test and validate new data sourced by the data engineering team including 1:1 validation against production systems
  • Perform ongoing validation of primary and derived tables
  • Conduct periodic review of reports to ensure parity across reporting
  • Assist with peer reviews of team’s work
  • Update and maintain data lineage and definitions of our primary data models
  • Create metadata for existing and new reports
  • Make minor changes and updates to existing reports as needed
  • Submit pull requests for changes to views used for reporting
  • Perform continuous enhancement of semantic models including efficiency audits
  • Create new reports based on business needs
  • Develop views and other server-side objects to support our reporting environment and semantic models
  • Provide backfill support for ongoing team work
  • Assist on specific projects as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Have working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric
