Summary
Join City Electrical Factors' Global IT team as a Data Scientist and be at the forefront of data-driven decision-making, shaping commercial strategies and optimizing operational efficiency. You will collaborate with stakeholders, build and deploy machine learning solutions, and communicate complex insights to non-technical audiences. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing initiative with direct impact on the company's success. The position is predominantly home-based but requires occasional travel within the UK. Requirements
- Proven track record in a data science role with experience in model development and business optimisation
- Proficiency in designing and implementing algorithms and data structures in Python for data science applications
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices, including data access, management, version control tools, reproducibility, and interpretability
- Proficiency with visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau, and the ability to convey insights through compelling data narratives
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage with business stakeholders to educate and demonstrate the impact of data-driven decision-making
- Develop and Implement Solutions: Build and deploy machine learning solutions to address key business challenges and improve operational efficiency
- Communicate Complex Insights: Present statistical concepts and findings in an accessible way to non-technical audiences, driving data-informed decision-making
- Drive Business Impact: Leverage data science to recommend and implement innovative solutions that deliver tangible commercial value
- Contribute High-Quality Code : Write robust Python code and contribute to packages that benefit the broader data science and analytical community
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Physics, Econometrics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
- Demonstrated expertise in solving problems using machine learning, either academically (with relevant publications) or commercially
- Deep understanding of probability distributions, statistical significance, hypothesis testing, and regression
- Experience working with cloud-based data solutions
- Knowledge of Algorithms and Frameworks
- SQL Proficiency: Skilled in building end-to-end data pipelines and combining data from multiple sources
