Summary
Join MO, a company dedicated to improving government services through user-centered design, as a Data Scientist. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create engaging design solutions. Analyze complex datasets, develop measurement strategies, and visualize data to inform strategic decision-making. Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Continuously monitor and improve model performance. Contribute to data pipeline design and ensure data quality. This role requires a strong design background and proficiency in data science techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelorโs or Masterโs degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- 5 or more years of industry experience in a data science or analytics role
- Proficiency in Python and/or R; familiarity with libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- Experience working with SQL and querying large databases
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/seaborn
- Strong understanding of statistical methods and machine learning techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities
- Analyze large, complex datasets to extract actionable insights
- Develop and implement measurement strategies to track system effectiveness and performance over time
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and product leadership to understand data needs and identify information gaps
- Visualize data and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Create clear data visualizations, dashboards, and interactive tools for strategic decision-making
- Continuously monitor model performance and retrain/update models as necessary
- Contribute to data pipeline design and ensure data quality and governance
- Document processes, methodologies, and results for reproducibility
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and tools such as Spark, Airflow, or Docker
- Familiarity with MLOps principles and deployment workflows
- Experience with HTML/CSS and web-based visualization tools
- Knowledge of customer experience (CX) frameworks and performance measurement
- Background in a specific domain such as finance, healthcare, retail, or government analytics
