Requirements

  • 5+ years proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role, with expertise in managing relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle
  • Strong understanding of database management principles, including database design, normalization, indexing, and optimization
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database query optimization and performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with database administration tools and monitoring systems
  • Familiarity with database security principles and best practices, including user access management, encryption, and auditing
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with development teams and other stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data integrity and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated Knowledge and Experience with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems to meet the organization's needs for data storage, retrieval, and processing
  • Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related tools to ensure high availability and performance
  • Monitor database performance and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance
  • Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures, including user access management, data encryption, and auditing
  • Plan and execute database backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of system failures or disasters
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database schema design, query performance, and indexing strategies
  • Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization activities to improve database efficiency and scalability
  • Stay current with database technologies and best practices, evaluating and recommending new tools and techniques to enhance database management processes
