Summary
Join T-Rex Solutions, a leading provider of IT modernization services to the Federal government, as a Database Administrator. You will support the Department of Education's cloud transition, working with the DevOps team to implement and administer databases across various cloud platforms. This role requires experience with multiple database systems (Oracle, MySQL/Postgres, MSSQL, MongoDB) and strong SQL skills. You will troubleshoot database issues, develop backup and recovery strategies, and contribute to operational documentation. A US Citizenship and Public Trust clearance are required. Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Database administration experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, AWS RDS, or other databases
- Experience developing and editing SQL scripts and stored procedures that process and modify existing data
- Experience creating database jobs to execute ad-hoc PL/SQL as well as procedures used to validate data, modify data, or gather table and index statistics at regular intervals
- Demonstrated experience leading customer projects/initiatives to improve database performance
- Strong understanding of the ITIL framework
Responsibilities
- Support the duties of the DevOps team; work with the team leads to execute and enhance DevOps SOPβs
- Support and coordinate the implementation of database products (Oracle, MySQL/Postgres, MSSQL, MongoDB) on a variety of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting and escalation support for database systems
- In partnership with engineering, develop strategies and implement solutions for managing database back-ups, restoration and replication
- Develop/review SOPβs and other documentation for use within the operations team
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Department of Education clearance preferred
- Bachelorβs degree and ten (7) years or more of related experience or Masters and five (5) or more years of related experience
- Experience managing databases in a medium/large (200+ databases) enterprise environment
- Proven AWS/Azure/GCP Cloud experience
- Experience with Agile methodologies
