dbt Developer

Summary

Join Immuta, a leader in automated data access, as a part-time, temporary independent contractor to support our analytics engineering efforts. This project is ideal for someone with strong dbt and Snowflake experience seeking a flexible, temporary, low-hours opportunity. You will maintain existing dbt models, create new models as needed, and ensure the overall health and performance of our dbt pipeline. The role involves collaboration with internal stakeholders, optimizing model performance, monitoring dbt runs, and resolving issues. This is a 1099 contractor position with a time commitment of approximately 4 hours per week for about five months. The hourly rate will be discussed based on experience.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with dbt (Data Build Tool) in a production environment
• Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture, SQL performance tuning, and best practices
• Proficiency in SQL and experience building transformation pipelines
• Experience with Git version control workflows
• Familiarity with dbt documentation, testing, and deployment practices
• Experience working with small, fast-moving teams
• Experience working with stakeholders across an organization (ex. Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Sales)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and troubleshoot data new dbt models and update existing dbt models and transformations to support new and updated business initiatives
• Optimize model performance and maintain documentation
• Monitor dbt runs and resolve any issues that arise
• Ensure data quality and consistency across the pipeline
