Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in marketing and communications, with a focus on the transportation or environmental sector

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication strategies aligned with CALSTART’s mission and goals
  • Lead initiatives to promote innovative mobility solutions and light-duty zero-emission vehicles
  • Oversee the creation and dissemination of impactful marketing content and collateral
  • Enhance member engagement through targeted communication strategies
  • Develop and manage member service programs that deliver value and foster strong relationships
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve member services
  • Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all marketing and communication channels
  • Strengthen CALSTART’s brand identity and market presence
  • Oversee the organization’s social media presence, website content, and digital marketing efforts
  • Collaborate with internal teams, industry partners, and stakeholders to advance marketing initiatives
  • Establish and maintain relationships with media, influencers, and other key audiences
  • Represent CALSTART at industry events, conferences, and meetings
  • Supervise and mentor marketing and communications staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
  • Manage external agencies and consultants as needed
  • Oversee budget planning and resource allocation for the marketing and communications department

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion for sustainability and clean transportation solutions
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience developing and executing campaigns across a many time zones and languages
  • Experience with customer segmentation, profiling and targeting
  • Mailchimp and/or Salesforce experience
