Summary

Join the California Domestic Workers Coalition (CDWC) as their new Executive Director! In this role, you will provide strategic leadership, overseeing organizational development and infrastructure, and leading all HR functions. Collaborate with the Leadership Team on annual goal-setting and long-term strategic planning. Monitor political conditions and opportunities, convene staff leadership, and ensure alignment with CDWC's strategic vision. Build and support a high-performing internal department, manage operations, logistics, and administration, and maintain strong knowledge management systems. Lead HR functions, including policy development, staff hiring, onboarding, offboarding, development, benefits, compensation, performance management, and compliance. Ensure equitable personnel policies and compliance with employment laws. This position requires a people-centered approach, strategic leadership, and a demonstrated passion for CDWC's mission. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in creating people-centered systems and team cultures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for CDWC in collaboration with the Leadership Team
  • Co-lead annual goal-setting and long-term strategic planning with the Coalition Steering Committee and Director
  • Monitor and assess political conditions and opportunities alongside the Steering Committee, made up of domestic worker leaders from across California
  • Convene the Staff Leadership Team and Management Circle to ensure strong coordination and stewardship
  • Ensure all priorities and work plans reflect CDWC’s strategic compass (vision, values, horizons) and 5–10-year milestones
  • Facilitate ongoing evaluation of organizational priorities, work plans, and infrastructure, offering clear analysis and sustainable solutions
  • Lead CDWC’s infrastructure department and long-term sustainability, including operations, logistics, and administration
  • Build and support Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing internal department of the CDWC staff team, including the hiring of an Operations Director and , Logistics-Ops Coordinators
  • Provide oversight to Operations, Logistics, and Administration, with the team responsible for: Ensuring strong operational oversight and coordination with the Center for Empowered Politics Education Fund (CEPEF), CDWC’s fiscal sponsor
  • Maintaining physical and digital infrastructure and security
  • Managing contracts and vendors
  • Overseeing the planning and implementation of key organizational events (staff and coalition meetings, etc.)
  • Ensuring all staff have the equipment, supplies, and materials they need to do their work
  • Creating and maintaining strong, consistent knowledge management systems and practices across the organization
  • Lead all HR functions in coordination with CEPEF: Policy development;Staff hiring, onboarding, and offboarding; Staff development, benefits, compensation; Performance management and compliance
  • Ensure equitable and consistent application of personnel policies
  • Oversee compliance with employment laws in partnership with legal counsel
  • Ensure strong labor relations and alignment with the collective bargaining agreement
  • Provide leadership to management on people and culture, change management, and organizational practices
  • Plan and implement staff development strategies that promote equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Deliver trainings on communication, leadership, and work styles that support an equitable, sustainable, and results-driven culture
  • Study of frameworks that deepen political and cultural unity of the Coalition and staff team Promote shared political and cultural frameworks that unify staff and coalition
  • Own the development and implementation of strategies to strengthen culture, DEIB, engagement, and belonging

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in the worker justice movement—or in movements rooted in labor, immigrant rights, racial justice, or gender justice—is a strong plus
