Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree in engineering, CADD or similar applicable work experience
- Prior experience (including academic and internship experience) designing and drafting utilizing AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
- Demonstrated knowledge of 3D design approaches, experience, and skills
- Experience in Inventor, Solidworks, NX, Creo, or Fusion is required
- Ability to identify and solve complex problems
- A passion for multi-disciplinary design, integrating design considerations from civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering disciplines
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be both creative and analytical
- Detail-oriented and accurate
- Efficient time management – handle multiple projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision including prioritizing, organizing, and planning effectively to meet all deadlines
Responsibilities
- Create sheet sets and perform 2D or 3D design work for multiple engineering disciplines supporting renewable energy and substation projects
- Imagine and create 3D models and renders that help visualize complex installations
- Acquire knowledge of substation systems and power delivery, transmission, and distribution equipment and specifications
- Provide feedback on continuous improvement for the same
- Perform design tasks on small projects or portions of larger projects
- Apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment
- Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes
- Work under the direction of more senior staff
- Receives close supervision on all aspects of assignments
- Receives a thorough review of completed work for the application of sound professional judgment
- Perform essential duties including meeting deliverables and deadlines
- Perform additional duties as assigned or directed
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with 3D Design software such as Autodesk Inventor is preferred
- Prior knowledge of industry codes and standards such as NEC, NESC, and IEEE is desirable
- Knowledge of substation or power delivery design is a plus
