Summary

The Desk Monitoring Engineer role involves ensuring the stability and performance of mission-critical infrastructure by implementing monitoring solutions, developing alerting systems, analyzing system performance, diagnosing root causes of abnormal behavior, documenting procedures, acting as the first point of contact for incidents, collaborating with relevant teams, and having exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with automation and monitoring tools, Linux, and Python is required.

Responsibilities

• Implementing monitoring solutions for real-time metrics
• Developing alerting systems to identify and respond to issues
• Continuously monitor system performance, logs, and alerts to identify anomalies or deviations from established baselines
• Analyze and diagnose root causes of abnormal behavior, working closely with cross-functional teams to understand the impact on operations
• Documenting shiny new procedures, troubleshooting scenarios and workarounds
• Act as the first point of contact for incidents and escalate appropriately based on severity levels and established protocols
• Collaborate with relevant teams, including development, operations, and network, to resolve incidents in a timely and efficient manner
