Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • Professional Engineer designation ( P.Eng ) with a Canadian engineering association
  • 6+ years of industry experience, preferably with experience in one of the following: production engineering, completions engineering, process engineering, facilities engineering, operations engineering, or project management
  • An ability and willingness to learn engineering modelling software for design optimization and economic assessment of alternatives
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects related to CDR and CCS
  • Coordinate with various teams including geologists, geophysicists, reservoir engineers, capture engineers and MMV specialists to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Liaise with government agencies, industry partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project operations and alignment with strategic goals
  • Develop models to optimize designs and operational strategies for CO2 transportation, injection and storage
  • Support the design and construction of CO2 injection facilities and wells, ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety standards
  • Support the selection of appropriate EPC’s, drilling rigs, completion equipment, and materials for construction and operation
  • Support risk assessments related to CO2 injection operations
  • Monitor facility performance and optimize operations based on real-time data and model predictions
