DevOps Engineer

Summary

Join Smartcat's DevOps team and contribute to the reliability and user experience of a fast-growing global SaaS company. You will be responsible for ensuring the consistent operation of production and testing environments, supporting and enhancing the development experience, and modernizing, economizing, and making deployments resilient, maintenance-friendly, and continuously monitored. Requirements

• Proven experience in building, managing, and troubleshooting distributed infrastructure and networks
• Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, IaC (Infrastructure as Code) implementation, and multi-branch deployment
• Strong understanding of container-based technologies and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), with the ability to deploy and manage them directly or via Helm Charts
• Experience with configuration management tools and a deep understanding of IaC tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform)
• First-line support experience for scalable cloud applications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Proficient Linux/Unix system administration skills
• Experience in setting up and maintaining monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Victoria Metrics, Grafana)
• Experience in Incident Management within production environments
• Proficient in written and spoken English
• Integrity, full commitment, and a strong sense of ownership

Responsibilities

• Ensure Production and Testing environments are consistently operational
• Support and enhance Development Experience
• Modernize, economize, and make our deployment resilient, maintenance-friendly, and continuously monitored
• Increase coverage of existing Production infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code by 25%
• Implement base Docker images updates automation
• Implement automation for multi-environment Nginx configuration delivery
• Understand SDLC for Smartcat’s applications
• Get familiar with DevOps tools and processes
• Confidently navigate through Platform Infrastructure
• Join the process of being on duty in a team, be able to analyze problems, use observability / monitoring tools and handle investigations
• Support Production releases and address blockers of CI/CD process
• Complete two quarter deliverable in alignment with Outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with document-oriented databases (e.g., MongoDB) is a plus
