Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and CloudFront, particularly for game asset storage, build hosting, and game patch management
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and best practices, with a focus on maintaining stability, reliability, and scalability in the context of game development environments
  • Proven experience using Docker containers and GitLab CI/CD to automate build and deployment pipelines, particularly for Unity-based games
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or similar tools to provision cloud resources for game environments (e.g., storage, compute, serverless functions for asset processing)

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Unity game development workflows, ensuring smooth integration of game builds, assets, and frequent updates
  • Develop and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions for game performance, stability, and player experiences in both development and production environments
  • Integrate cloud-native applications with existing AWS infrastructure to support game deployment, asset management, data storage, and backend services for single-player and cloud-enabled game features
  • Collaborate with game developers and artists to automate the deployment of game assets, game builds, and updates to ensure rapid iteration cycles and minimize downtime
  • Optimize infrastructure for game builds, ensuring efficient handling of game assets (e.g., textures, models, animations) and supporting backend services (e.g., cloud storage, analytics)
  • Provide recommendations on infrastructure and deployment strategies that scale for game updates, patches, and downloadable content (DLC) delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of APIs, especially RESTful services and integration with cloud data providers for managing game data, player stats, or assets
  • Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, or Bash) for automating workflows and infrastructure tasks, with an understanding of scripting in Unity or integration with Unity cloud services
  • Experience with game asset management, including automation for asset delivery and updates (patches, hotfixes) within Unity development pipelines
  • Cyber-security affinity, especially regarding securing game builds, user data, and cloud-based resources
  • Strong analytical skills, initiative, and a problem-solving attitude, with a focus on streamlining development workflows and improving infrastructure reliability
  • Experience working in agile teams with excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Fluent in English and comfortable working in an international, fast-paced game development environment
  • Familiarity with Unity development tools, build pipelines, and cloud integration for game deployment
  • Experience managing game data pipelines for player stats, in-game analytics, and user-generated content (UGC) that integrate with cloud storage or serverless services
  • Knowledge of game performance optimization, including handling large game assets and improving game load times through cloud or on-demand processing
