Summary
Join Civis Analytics as a DevOps Engineer and play a key role in delivering, maintaining, and improving the infrastructure supporting our data science platform. You will build scalable infrastructure-as-code using modern tools, support our AWS environment, collaborate with engineering teams on CI/CD pipelines, and automate tasks. This position requires experience with AWS or GCP, automation tools, and scripting languages like Python or Bash. The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, working in a remote-first environment, and is eager to learn new technologies. Requirements
- 1+ years of experience as a Software or DevOps Engineer
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, a related field, or a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in software development, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles
- Experience working with either AWS or GCP services such as compute, databases, VPCs, networking, permissioning and storage
- Familiarity with automation tools and configuration-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, Vagrant, etc.)
- Comfortable with Python and/or Bash scripting
- Interest and ability to master new technologies
Responsibilities
- Help create scalable infrastructure-as-code using cutting edge tools
- Deliver, maintain, and evolve the infrastructure that makes our data science platform possible
- Support and improve our AWS environment to keep systems secure, reliable, and efficient
- Work with engineering teams to create and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Write scripts and tools to automate tasks and improve efficiency
- Take part in an on-call rotation to support the platform when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with continuous integration/delivery services
- Experience with containerized code deployment and kubernetes
- Experience with networking concepts and protocols
- Experience with security, systems, or application monitoring and metrics
- Experience with using AI in a code development
