Summary

Join Two Six Technologies as a fully remote DevOps Manager within the continental United States! You will lead a team of 2-3 DevOps Engineers, deploying, securing, and monitoring production, test, and development environments in AWS using Kubernetes and Docker. This role requires extensive experience with CI/CD, Elastic, and various automation tools. You will focus on engineering activities, team management, and collaboration with other departments. Evening work once a week and on-call rotation are required. A security clearance is a plus, but not required.

Requirements

  • Practical experience managing AWS accounts and maintaining production applications in AWS
  • Significant working experience with Elastic and other databases
  • Expert proficiency in CI/CD tooling and pipelines, with hands-on experience using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab Pipelines
  • Significant experience with containerization technologies, particularly Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and EKS
  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable architectures in production environments
  • Experience with tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
  • Knowledge of best practices for infrastructure security, reliability, and fault tolerance
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity systems and principles
  • Proficiency in software development practices, including version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field or comparable experience

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, secure, and monitor production, test, and development environments
  • Manage and automate deployments using tools like Helm, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar
  • Manage a team of 2-3 DevOps Engineers
  • Collaborate with development teams, architects, and other leaders on system designs and strategic technical decisions
  • Provide 24x7 support through an on-call rotation
  • Proactively identify challenges and propose effective, scalable solutions
  • Build and maintain a solid and scalable infrastructure
  • Mentor team members and foster collaboration
  • Apply deep technical intuition and critical thinking to solve complex problems
  • Deliver high-quality results under pressure
  • Prioritize metrics-driven outcomes
  • Thoroughly document code, system designs, and processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in scripting languages, with a primary focus on Python
  • Hands-on experience with Python frameworks such as Django or FastAPI
