Summary
Join 540 as a DevOps Engineer and contribute to impactful technology projects for the federal government. You will build applications using modern open-source technologies on AWS, collaborating with architecture teams to support APIs and implement an API-Product-Driven design. This fast-paced role involves architecture design, development, security, and operations services for USCIS Integration Services, ensuring seamless data exchange between systems. You will leverage Agile methodologies and innovative practices to support the USCIS mission of administering the nation's lawful immigration system. The position offers a remote-friendly work environment within the continental US and requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance.
Requirements
- Be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance
- Have a Bachelorβs in Computer Science or related field
- Have 7+ years of professional experience
- Have 3+ years of experience creating/maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Cloudbees and/or Harness
- Have 3+ years of experience with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Charts)
- Have in-depth knowledge of DevOps best practices
- Have software development experience with Java and/or Groovy
- Have experience with AWS (ECS, RDS, etc.)
- Have experience with Ansible for automating infrastructure deployment, configuration management and system orchestration
- Have experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Have experience with Git and the Gitflow development workflow
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Have strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Have a #GetShitDone mentality
Responsibilities
- Build applications using modern open source technologies hosted on AWS
- Work with architecture teams to support application and implementation of all Application Programing Interfaces (APIs) and foster an API-Product-Driven design approach
- Provide architecture design, development, security and operations services in support of USCIS Integration Services
- Assist with the seamless and accurate exchange of information from different systems by facilitating the transfer of data
Preferred Qualifications
- Have a background with Java / Spring development
- Have experience with tools like Splunk & New Relic for monitoring & logging
- Have CompTIA Security+ and/or Linux+ certifications
- Have experience working with the government, specifically with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
