DevSecOps Engineer

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline
• A minimum of 8 years of experience is required
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps
• Strong understanding of security best practices, including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and secure coding standards
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls to ensure secure and efficient deployment of software solutions
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to automate security testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance validation
• Configure and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to support deployment automation
• Implement and manage containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) with a focus on security best practices
• Monitor and enhance system performance, reliability, and security through continuous monitoring tools and techniques
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of DevSecOps processes, configurations, and security measures
• Provide guidance and training to team members on secure DevOps practices and technologies
• Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other federal agencies
• The following certifications are a plus: AWS certification, Azure certification, etc
• Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder and DevSecOps environment
• Ability to obtain a government clearance
