Summary
Join VetsEZ as a remote DevSecOps Engineer supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. You will integrate security practices into the DevOps pipeline, ensuring secure software deployments. This role requires a minimum of 8 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Responsibilities include designing CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with various teams, and managing infrastructure as code. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline
- A minimum of 8 years of experience is required
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps
- Strong understanding of security best practices, including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and secure coding standards
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls to ensure secure and efficient deployment of software solutions
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to automate security testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance validation
- Configure and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to support deployment automation
- Implement and manage containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) with a focus on security best practices
- Monitor and enhance system performance, reliability, and security through continuous monitoring tools and techniques
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of DevSecOps processes, configurations, and security measures
- Provide guidance and training to team members on secure DevOps practices and technologies
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other federal agencies
- The following certifications are a plus: AWS certification, Azure certification, etc
- Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder and DevSecOps environment
- Ability to obtain a government clearance
