Summary

Join Viget as a Digital Project Manager (DPM) and lead a variety of projects, including large-scale content sites, product design, and software development efforts. As a DPM, you will collaborate with clients to understand organizational goals, define solutions, and ensure project quality. You will facilitate tasking, budget management, and communication with clients and internal teams. You will define and prioritize requirements, collaborate with designers and developers, support user research and testing, and lead quality assurance. This role requires strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, along with experience in fast-paced software development environments. Successful candidates will have 3-8 years of experience managing digital projects.

Requirements

  • Be a polished and persuasive communicator
  • Consistently listen, make connections, write, and speak better than most people
  • Possess an awareness of and appreciation for details
  • Meet deadlines across multiple, simultaneous projects
  • Build long-term relationships with clients based on thorough planning, timely and professional communication, and intelligent problem-solving
  • Be solution-oriented; synthesize solutions
  • Closely manage project budgets
  • Work with internal teams to manage their time within constraints, transparently communicate budget health to clients, and lead prioritization discussions to help clients understand tradeoffs and collaboratively identify solutions that work with their timelines and budgets
  • Have a "thick skin" when the going gets tough; communicate diplomatically to reach a resolution when conflicting demands emerge
  • Demonstrate integrity through your words and actions
  • Be flexible and adaptable; create effective project plans and timelines, but adapt when things change
  • Work well in a technical environment
  • Have worked in a fast-paced software development environment before, whether at an agency or product company
  • Know how the web works and how a web app works; be aware of technical constraints when talking to clients
  • Break down a set of wireframes into actionable tasks for back-end and front-end developers
  • Find innovative, efficient, and effective ways to document tasks
  • Shepherd often-vague client requests and ideas through the definition process
  • Know when to rely on a UX designer, but be comfortable thinking through logic and creating useful documentation of that logic
  • Describe workflows and tasks purely from an end user’s perspective, helping developers make informed implementation decisions
  • Perform QA; distinguish a bug from a functional update from a new feature request
  • Have between 3 and 8 years of experience managing digital projects
  • Embody core values of integrity, work ethic, collaboration, creativity, and lifelong learning
  • Value mentorship, learning, and sharing knowledge
  • Write and speak clearly and effectively when collaborating with teammates and clients
