Summary

The job is for a Director of Care Services at The ALS Association in the DC/MD/VA metropolitan areas. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, healthcare administration, or another health/human service-related field, preferred; bachelor’s degree may be considered with five to seven years of related experience and/or training
  • Seven to ten years’ experience in healthcare, community service, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and adapt programs and services associated with the care services priorities as defined in The Association’s Care Services Strategic Implementation Plan
  • Collaborate with Managing Director, Care Services and other Care Services Directors/Managers to ensure consistency of services, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee programs and services such as Quality of Life Grant, National Equipment Program, Support Groups, ALS Care Connection, educational programs, etc
  • Assess and evaluate Care Services Programs; offer recommendations for updates, improvements, and future programs to Managing Director, Care Services
  • Plan and direct implementation of the program outcomes and evaluation process
  • Establish strategic community and professional partnerships and collaborations
  • Identify and resolve operational and service barriers within the assigned territory
  • Participate in continuing education seminars, workshops, and conferences as available and necessary
  • Manage current clinic relationships and identify potential multidisciplinary team referral resources
  • Cultivate relationships with the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center and Clinics to facilitate appropriate care for veterans diagnosed with ALS
  • Partner with the Managing Director, Care Services to establish working productive and positive relationships with multidisciplinary clinics not affiliated with The ALS Association
  • Ensure all staff utilize Salesforce database accurately and consistently
  • Supervise and provide direct involvement with complex client and family issues
  • Oversee assigned program budget and monitor expenditures
  • Continuously be aware and informed on local and state resources, providing Care Services staff with appropriate education and awareness
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management in support of the Association’s goals and mission
