Director, Client Partnerships

Join Axios, a media company committed to providing trustworthy news, as a Director, Client Partnerships. This role focuses on growing Axios Locals’ revenue through native content development by working with new and existing partners. You will act as a brand ambassador, network across markets, and develop strategic relationships with local agencies and clients. The position requires superior communication, creative solution development, and lead generation skills. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing six-figure deals and experience in sales, digital media, or marketing. The starting salary is $76,000-$115,000, depending on location and experience, plus additional compensation and benefits.

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in sales, digital media, consulting, or marketing
• Experience selling or managing books of business for local/regional advertising or digital media clients
• Proven track record of developing six figure deals
• Familiarity with the local advertisers in their city’s market
• Established relationships with senior level marketing executives
• Knowledge of key industry and its trends
• Ability to develop strategic and multi market campaigns that align with client objectives
• Strong leadership skills
• Knowledge of digital media, online marketing technology, and Axios’ competitive landscape
• Experience selling social media campaigns with relevant extensions
• Highly collaborative with a proven track record of forming strong working relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels
• Willingness to travel and attend social events and engagements during evening hours (when it becomes safe to do so again)

Responsibilities

• Work with new and existing partners to grow Axios Locals’ revenue through native content development
• Act as a brand ambassador for certain Axios Local markets and proactively network across those markets and create new opportunities
• Develop and maintain trusted, strategic relationships with local agency and client partners
