Summary

Join Alloy Automation, a rapidly growing tech startup, as an Engineering Leader to lead, manage, and mentor the EPD organization (engineering, product, design, and QA teams). You will own multiple product lines, establish KPIs, and report on performance to senior leadership. Strategic initiatives include developing an on-prem offering, self-serve apps, and improving infrastructure. You will partner with the revenue team, prioritize the product roadmap, and accelerate feature releases. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to build and foster a high-performing engineering culture. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a similar role at an early-stage startup.

Requirements

  • Been an engineering and product leader at an early stage startup from Series A to B and beyond, with track record as a technical and people leader, growing and building engineering and product teams
  • Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience building web applications at scale with Node, React, Typescript, Javascript, etc
  • Cross functional leadership, helping liaise across teams and convey the inner workings of their teams to the broader company
  • Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills, not only leading the teams to ship products and oversee projects, but also manage budgets, planning and people management of the EPD org
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
  • Strong opinions and willingness to voice them
  • Exceptional leader who’s great at hiring, onboarding, coaching, helping the team grow, and getting them excited to go fast
  • Able to juggle and not just bring ideas to the table but execute on it in the earlier days

Responsibilities

  • Own multiple product lines (SLG led: Flow Embedded and PLG led: Self-Serve motions) and demonstrate versatility
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for growth, track progress against these metrics, and report on performance to senior leadership
  • Hire and re-organize teams and processes as needed to ensure we have the right structures and people in place to execute
  • Spearhead strategic initiatives in 2025 including an on-prem offering, self serve apps, Alloy OAS and workflow builder overhaul, significant changes to our infrastructure and subsequent cloud costs, accelerating our ability to build connectors, etc
  • Have a keen sense of business goals and be a close partner to the revenue team. Own the product roadmap and ruthlessly prioritize to meet demands (while being able to stand your ground when needed) from the founder, sales org, etc
  • Help us ship faster. Release features 2-3x faster with less bugs and regressions. Decrease the time to build net new connectors to less than 1 week. Build repeatable, scalable processes across EPD to ensure speed and quality are maximized across the board
  • Ensure the leadership team has the right level of visibility into engineering productivity, velocity, performance and customer insights based on product usage and insights
  • Ensure we have the right management layers and operating mechanics in place to keep our squads organized and team motivated and supported by the right leaders
  • Improve talent density across the board, leveraging your engineering leads as well as making personnel changes as needed to make sure we build and foster a high performing culture
