Join NBCUniversal as a Director of Engineering, ERP Platform & Integration to lead the strategy, operations, and evolution of the enterprise ERP platform and integrations. This senior technical role involves owning the ERP platform (currently SAP) and guiding future transitions. You will lead a cross-functional team responsible for the ERP core platform, infrastructure, security, and enterprise integrations, driving engineering excellence and cost optimization. As a hands-on leader, you will build and mentor a high-performing team, establish platform governance, and deliver reliable, scalable, and integrated systems. Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise systems engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar)
- Deep technical expertise in ERP system administration, infrastructure, and security—experience with SAP BASIS, cloud ERP platforms, or platform modernization initiatives strongly preferred
- Proven success leading platform operations and engineering teams across multi-environment landscapes (development, QA, production)
- Strong understanding of ERP integration patterns and technologies, including APIs, middleware, ETL pipelines, and enterprise data flows
- Demonstrated ability to manage system lifecycle activities such as upgrades, migrations, cutovers, and environment refreshes
- Experience implementing and governing security controls, including role-based access management, SoD policies, audit readiness, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, GDPR)
- Track record of driving cost optimization, automation, and performance improvements across infrastructure and application layers
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience creating and managing vendor relationships, including ERP providers, cloud hosting partners, and system integrators
- Skilled at building and leading high-performing, collaborative teams—fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and mutual support
- Ability to lead through change and ambiguity, especially in transformation environments such as M&A, carve-outs, or ERP re-platforming
- Excellent communication and executive reporting skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business impact
- Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence
Responsibilities
- Own and effectively communicate the ERP platform architecture and roadmap, guiding technical decisions that support current operations, reduce technical debt, anticipate future platform transformation, and incorporate changes to the platform due to business changes
- Lead platform design and evolution, balancing stability, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency
- Ensure proper platform and integration documentation is created in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure platform readiness for Day 1 operations as a newly-created company, including cloned environments, infrastructure provisioning, and system separation
- Evaluate and recommend ERP technologies – considering business goals, vendor landscape, and the maturity of cloud-native and SaaS ERP alternatives
- Oversee ERP infrastructure architecture and operations, ensuring availability, performance, and supportability across all cloud and on-prem environments
- Oversee ERP system administration activities, including user and role provisioning, transport management, environment refreshes, job scheduling, system health checks, and overall platform stability across development, test, and production landscapes
- Implement robust platform-level security, including identity and access management (IAM), role-based access controls, segregation of duties (SoD), and audit readiness
- Establish monitoring, observability, and incident response protocols, ensuring high system uptime and rapid resolution of issues
- Optimize platform costs through FinOps practices, automation, and right-sizing infrastructure resources
- Define and enforce environment management standards, including development, QA, and production, as well as transport management and release controls
- Own the ERP integration strategy and execution, managing APIs, middleware platforms, data pipelines, and event-driven integrations with surrounding business systems
- Support both ERP-native (e.g., SAP BTP) and enterprise-wide integration tools (e.g., TIBCO, Sterling, Mulesoft), ensuring secure and reliable data flow
- Coordinate with internal and external teams (including security and networking teams) to deliver end-to-end system connectivity across Finance, HR, Procurement, and other domains
- Ensure integration scalability and resiliency, supporting near real-time and batch data processing as appropriate to business needs
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, including platform engineers, infrastructure specialists, security engineers, and integration developers – including both full-time employees, contractors, and vendor support
- Define team structure, roles, and growth paths, aligning with the needs of a rapidly evolving technology organization
- Foster a culture of accountability, curiosity, and collaboration, building a team of technically strong engineers who are self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of navigating complex interpersonal dynamics with empathy and professionalism
- Mentor technical talent and promote learning, enabling team members to develop platform-specific skills (e.g., SAP BASIS, cloud ERP), cross-functional awareness, and leadership capabilities
- Partner cross-functionally, serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and other stakeholders
- Establish and manage governance processes for configuration, change management, and solution delivery within the ERP ecosystem
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, data privacy, and regulatory requirements, including SOX, GDPR, and industry-specific standards
- Manage relationships with vendors, cloud providers, and system integrators, ensuring accountability, service quality, and alignment with long-term strategy
- Evaluate third-party tools, services, and vendors to enhance the ERP platform’s capabilities, integration patterns, user experience, and delivery patterns

- Salary range: $170,000 - $220,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)
