Director, Engineering - Legal & Privacy Systems

Summary

Join NBCUniversal as the Director of Engineering – Legal & Privacy Systems, a strategic technical leadership role responsible for developing, customizing, and ensuring the operational excellence of Versant’s legal and privacy platforms. Lead engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective systems supporting legal and privacy operations and modernization initiatives. Partner with cross-functional teams to align system capabilities with operational and regulatory requirements. Continuously evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance capabilities and reduce technical debt. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within high-performing technical teams. Ensure robust system monitoring, incident response, and performance management. Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 10+ years in engineering roles, with 5+ years leading technical teams
• Experience with OneTrust (IRR, CMP), iManage DMS, and privacy compliance systems
• Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain high-performing, collaborative technical teams
• Ability to maintain operational stability while supporting modernization initiatives

Responsibilities

• Own the vision and roadmap for legal and privacy system engineering, aligning with business and regulatory priorities
• Guide architecture, modernization, and performance improvements across OneTrust, iManage, and related platforms
• Partner with Privacy, Legal, and Compliance teams to align system capabilities with operational and regulatory requirements
• Continuously evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and vendor solutions to enhance capabilities, reduce technical debt, and drive cost effectiveness
• Drive innovation in system integration, reporting, and automation to support legal and privacy workflows
• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams responsible for system development, customization, and support
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement focused on quality and operational stability
• Oversee vendor relationships, licensing, and contract negotiations for legal and privacy systems
• Ensure robust system monitoring, incident response, and performance management across platforms
• Support compliance and privacy initiatives through reliable, scalable system configurations
• Manage integrations with enterprise platforms while maintaining system security and regulatory compliance
