Summary

Join Porch Group as a Director, Insurance Finance (Property & Casualty) and lead the financial planning and analysis functions for the insurance division. Develop and manage the annual budget, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insights on performance metrics, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • 12+ years’ experience with all phases of P&C insurance company finance and accounting, investment and treasury operations, and financial planning and analysis
  • P&C insurance experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of financial analysts and planners
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the annual budget, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans for the insurance division
  • Collaborate with senior management to align financial strategies with business objectives and growth plans
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insights on performance metrics, profitability, and operational efficiency
  • Evaluate financial impacts of business decisions, including market expansions, and strategic investments
  • Analysis on unit economics and integration of Porch insurance into the Porch
  • Coordinate Balance Sheet forecasting with support of the Insurance Finance team
  • Prepare and present financial reports, including variance analysis, financial statements, and management reports and board reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies
  • Timely and accurate reporting of internal management reports for Operations meetings and dashboards: Executive, Financial, Marketing & Sales, and Claims metrics
  • Timely and accurate reporting of management reports to Porch Group
  • Understanding how insurance metrics at the corporate level will be managed
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of financial models, forecasts, and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making
  • Develop a tool for scenario building and ability to break down complex items into a simple structure
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in financial systems and reporting tools
  • Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts and planners, providing guidance and support for professional development
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial planning and reporting processes
  • Implement best practices and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
  • Assess and manage financial risks, including insurance reserves, capital adequacy, and investment performance
