Join Guardant Health as the Director of Medical Engagement Excellence - Oncology and lead all aspects of medical training for field teams. Develop and deploy educational programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Collaborate with commercial teams and contribute to national initiatives enhancing field medical engagement. Provide ongoing training and mentoring to the field medical team. Maintain current knowledge of advancements in oncology diagnostics and ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards. Requirements
- Typically requires a university degree and typically 15 years of related experience; Masterβs degree or equivalent and 12 years relevant experience; PhD and 8 years relevant experience; or 5 years and a PharmD/MD with focus in medical affairs and oncology
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and projects
- Strong understanding of the precision oncology landscape, clinical research methodologies, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts clearly
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team
- Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking capabilities
Responsibilities
- Develop, design and implement the training strategy for U.S. Medical Affairs field team ensuring effectiveness and alignment with USMA, Oncology organizational goals
- Develop, design and implement techniques and strategies for engaging with healthcare providers on clinical utility of Guardant Health offerings
- Collaborate with the Commercial Oncology teams in partnership with Oncology Training ensuring effectiveness and alignment with Guardant Health strategy and goals
- Facilitate ongoing educational development related to new product launches and initiatives at all stages of product lifecycles
- Evaluation of scientific competency of US Medical Affairs team members and ensure high standards of training quality
- Provide input and lead national-level initiatives for medical engagement rollouts
- Regular contributor to Field Medical Affairs Leadership to ensure alignment of Medical Affairs customer engagement standards and Medical Affairs process with strategic efficiency and training goals. Provide insight, guidance, influence, and expertise that ensure the vision for Medical Affairs is well understood
- Support the effective and efficient implementation of Excellence initiatives including, but not limited to 1) Internal Support: journal club, informational sessions (e.g. bioinformatics, biostatistics, clinical study design and conduct), and 2) External Support: continuing education for optimizing interactions with health care providers that result in consistent, valued outcomes and maximum impact to Guardant Health
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards in all Medical Affairs Excellence activities
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in oncology diagnostics across all therapeutic areas to inform training, support field teams and guide healthcare provider engagement strategies
- Collaborate with manager to monitor and report MA training Impact and Activities and ensure alignment with agreed Priority Oncology key performance indicators (KPIs) and key quality indicators (KQIs)

- Hybrid Work Model : At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $200,800 to $276,100
