Summary

Join Included Health as an Associate Medical Director (AMD) and become an integral member of the Clinical Leadership team. Oversee clinical care, professional development, and practice administration, focusing on improving patient care and quality. Collaborate with the Medical Director and internal teams to enhance provider recruitment, training, and development. Create a supportive learning and working environment that promotes lifelong learning and clinical excellence. The AMD will also contribute to quality assurance/quality improvement projects, supervise nurse practitioners, and participate in business development activities. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills, along with experience in a healthcare setting.

  • Hold an MD or DO with active board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical experience, ideally in primary care
  • Have at least 2 years of experience delivering patient care via a virtual care platform
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of management or leadership experience in healthcare, preferably in virtual care

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor clinicians, fostering a safe learning environment
  • Manage individual clinician performance, ensuring standards are met and taking corrective action as needed
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to provide feedback and enhance engagement
  • Drive practice management efforts and operational improvements to support clinician excellence
  • Serve as a strategic leader and partner across the organization
  • Facilitate communication between clinical and organizational leadership and clinicians
  • Relay information from leadership to the practice and provide a feedback mechanism
  • Serve as the "voice of the practice", providing timely and actionable communication
  • Organize and create content for practice huddles and meetings
  • Contribute to annual and ongoing QA/QI committee work
  • Suggest quality enhancements based on practice feedback and member satisfaction scores
  • Provide feedback to staff clinicians to promote safety and adherence to guidelines
  • Dedicate at least 10% of time to direct patient care
  • Provide care for patients in the Care and Case Management (CCM) program
  • Maintain exemplary professionalism and clinical quality in all patient interactions
  • Complete timely charting and documentation
  • Serve as the clinical supervisor of record for a group of Nurse Practitioners
  • Provide clinical supervision according to state and internal guidelines
  • Assist in leading the NP clinical supervision program, providing guidance and mentorship
  • Assist with overseeing the Peer Review process and perform assigned reviews monthly
  • Provide feedback to clinicians based on Peer Review results
  • Participate in demonstrations of Included Health applications to support Go-To-Market teams
  • Serve as an ambassador for clinicians and products, showcasing clinical excellence and patient care
  • Take on strategic projects to improve member care, such as developing value-based care strategies
  • Perform other administrative duties and projects as needed
  • Engage in periodic business travel
